Jay Goldsmith
Mr. Goldsmith is Chairman of the Board of Glasstech Inc. and served in that capacity in 1995-1997 and from 2002 until the present. Mr. Goldsmith is President of Balfour Investors, a merchant banking firm, and Balfour Investment Management, which he founded with Harry Freund in 1975. Prior to Balfour, Mr. Goldsmith was a securities analyst with E.F. Hutton (1973-75) and H. Hentz & Co. (1966-73). Mr. Goldsmith has served on various creditor committees, including Equitable Bag Corporation; Fair Lanes, Inc.; Hills Department Stores, Inc.; and Leslie Fay, Inc., and on the equity committee of New Valley, Inc. (formerly Western Union, Inc.). Mr. Goldsmith has been Chairman of the Board of Nucorp Energy, Inc., Croyden Capital Corporation and Paterson Parchment Paper Co., Inc. and Vice Chairman of Roberts Consolidated Industries and Equitable Bag Corporation. Mr. Goldsmith also has served on the boards of a number of charitable and civic organizations. He holds a BA degree in Medieval History from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Harry Freund
Mr. Freund is Vice Chairman of the Board of Glasstech Inc. and served in that capacity in 1995-1997 and from 2002 until the present. Mr. Freund is Chairman of Balfour Investors, a merchant banking firm, and Balfour Investment Management, which he founded with Mr. Goldsmith in 1975. Mr. Freund has served as Chairman of Roberts Consolidated Industries and of Equitable Bag Corporation; as Vice Chairman of Nucorp Energy, Inc. and of Paterson Parchment Paper Company, Inc.; and President of Croyden Capital Corporation. Mr. Freund has served on various creditor committees in bankruptcies, such as Hills Department Stores, Inc., Fair Lanes, Inc., and Leslie Fay, Inc., as well as on the equity committee of New Valley, Inc. (formerly Western Union, Inc.). At the beginning of his career, Mr. Freund was a securities analyst with G. Tsai & Company, Hayden Stone and Loeb Rhoades & Company. Additionally, Mr. Freund has served on the board of a number of charitable and civic organizations. He holds a BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Clifford Blair Cohn
Mr. Cohn is currently the principal of Cohn & Associates, a law firm in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and is primarily involved in a litigation-intensive practice, which includes legal malpractice, commercial and estate litigation. Mr. Cohn is a Director of Glasstech Inc. and served in that capacity in 1995-1997 and from 2002 until the present. He has previously served as a director of publicly traded companies Publicker Industries, Lesley Fay Companies and Sassco Fashions Inc. He also serves on the boards of two private foundations as well as a number of charitable and civic organizations. He holds a BA from Brandeis University and a JD degree from the University of Miami Law School.
L.G. Schafran
Mr. Schafran is a Managing Director of Providence Capital, Inc., a privately held investment and advisory firm based in New York City. He also is a Director of Glasstech Inc. and served in that capacity in 1995-1997 and from 2002 until the present. Further, Mr. Schafran serves as a Director of Tarragon Corp.; SulphCo, Inc.; National Patent Development Corp.; RemoteMDx, Inc.; Dollar Days International, Inc.; Electro Energy, Inc.; and Cardinal Resources, plc.
Mark D. Christman
Mr. Christman joined Glasstech in 1976 and has served as President/Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors since 1997. Previously, Mr. Christman held various positions with the company, including Vice President, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Christman holds a BSBA in Accounting from Ohio State University and a MBA in Finance also from OSU.
